Man charged in 2021 shooting placed on felony probation

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Jefferson City man received felony probation after he pled guilty to unlawful use of a weapon after a Feb. 2021 shooting.

Cole County Prosecuting Attorney Locke Thompson says Paul McElrath faces 15 years in prison if he violates the terms of probation.

Court documents reveal McElrath and another man started shooting at each other after arriving a McDonald's to fight.

Police say 13 shell casings were recovered at the scene. An officer say Mcelrath admitted to shooting at Fuller until he had no more bullets -- 11 times.
