Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop F provided an update on traffic incidents beginning on Friday.

Troopers report there were 202 calls for service, 94 stranded motorists, 20 non-injury crashes and two injury crashes.

Crash blocking westbound passing lane on Highway 54 and Route AA in Miller County

Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop F is reporting an 18-wheeler has crashed on Highway 54 at Route AA in Miller County.

Officials report the westbound passing lane is currently blocked while the vehicle is removed.

Parking on streets allowed again in Columbia

The City of Columbia lifted parking restrictions on priority snow routes on Friday afternoon after a snowstorm dumped about 10 inches on the city over two days this week.

Parking on those routes is banned when snow accumulation reaches 2 inches or more. Parking is allowed again after snowplows have cleared the routes enough for traffic to move easily. Those who violate the ban can be ticketed or towed.

All lanes reopen on I-70 in Montgomery County

Interstate 70 at High Hill in Montgomery County fully reopened at about 11 a.m.

The westbound lanes opened up first, followed by the eastbound lanes about half an hour later.

A traffic camera showed a tow truck working to remove a trailer from the eastbound lanes just before they were reopened.

The area has been a problem spot during this week's snowstorm, with multiple reports of jackknifed tractor-trailers that have blocked traffic over the past few days.

Crash closes Highway 54 in Callaway County

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Friday morning that Highway 54 westbound was blocked in Callaway County.

The patrol tweeted at about 10 a.m. that the road was blocked because of a jackknifed tractor-trailer between Center Street and South Summit Drive in the Jefferson City area. The Missouri Department of Transportation traveler map says delays might last an hour.

All state roads remained covered or partially covered with snow after a snowstorm that dumped as much as 10 inches on Central Missouri. Sunshine on Friday is expected to help melt some snow and ice on the roads but overnight temperatures are expected to drop back into the single digits, causing refreezing and compromising the efficacy of snow-melting agents.

The patrol's Troop F said shortly after 10 a.m. that troopers had been sent to 43 calls with 26 stranded drivers, four crashes and no injuries since midnight.

Traffic routed around I-70 problem spot in Montgomery County

The Missouri State Highway Patrol rerouted traffic Friday morning around a closed stretch of eastbound Interstate 70 near New Florence in Montgomery County.

Troopers said no one was hurt after three semi-trucks crashed in the eastbound lanes near the 180-mile marker around 6:50 a.m. A Missouri Department of Transportation traffic camera showed tractor-trailers blocking the road.

According to the highway patrol, there were no overnight crashes reported in Troop F, which covers parts of Mid-Missouri. Troopers responded to 16 calls for service and nine stranded drivers since midnight on Friday.

Since midnight on Thursday, troopers with Troop F responded to the following number of calls:

  • Calls for Service: 255
  • Stranded drivers: 178
  • Non-injury crashes: 34
  • Injury crashes: 2

According to the MoDOT Traveler Information Map, roads across Mid-Missouri are still partly to mostly snow-covered.

The highway patrol asks drivers to avoid travel on Friday if possible.
