Emergency crews respond to nearly two dozen crashes in Columbia on Thursday morning

8:45 a.m. Update:
Emergency crews responded to nearly two dozen crashes around Columbia on Thursday morning.
According to the Columbia Fire Department, firefighters worked 20 crashes with other local departments between 5:30 to 7:55 a.m.
That included a crash involving several vehicles on Highway 63 at Rolling Hills Road.
Firefighters said one of the drivers was hit by another vehicle when the driver got out of their vehicle. According to the fire department, the person was taken to a hospital before emergency crews arrived. Their condition is unknown.
Crews also worked two other crashes on I-70 at the Lake of the Woods exit and on Scott Boulevard at Vawter School Road. Firefighters said no one was taken to hospital in either crash.
8:25 a.m. Update:
Workers are treating priority roads across Columbia on Thursday morning.
According to the Columbia Public Works Department, an eight-person crew started to treat roads around 4:30 a.m.

Emergency crews responded to several crashes across Boone County and Columbia.
According to MoDOT's Traveler Information Map, drivers should expect to find snow-covered roads in parts of Boone County, Cole County, and other areas of Mid-Missouri.
7:15 a.m. Update:
An eastbound lane of Interstate 70 is back open in Saline County on Thursday morning.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, no one was hurt in a crash involving a semi-truck near the Sweet Springs exit. Troopers said traffic slowly moving through the area.

6:55 a.m. Update:
The Columbia Fire Department is responding to a crash on northbound Highway 63.
According to Boone County Joint Communications, the crash happened near Rolling Hills Road. No other details were available about the crash.
Crews have asked drivers to avoid the area if possible.
6:15 a.m. Update:
Emergency crews are responding to two additional crashes in Columbia on Thursday morning.
Boone County Joint Communications reported crashes at northbound Highway 63 and Stadium Boulevard and Scott Boulevard and Vawter School Road.
More details about the crashes weren't immediately available.
Emergency crews asked drivers to avoid the area if possible.

Emergency crews responded to at least one crash on eastbound Interstate 70 at the Highway 40 ramp. According to the Boone County Fire Protection District, one person in an SUV was hurt after a semi-truck sideswiped their vehicle.
Drivers were asked to avoid the area.
Boone County Joint Communications also reported several other crashes and slide-offs on I-70.
According to MoDOT's Traveler Information Map, snow was covering parts of the interstate in Boone County and other parts of Mid-Missouri.
MoDOT reported eastbound I-70 near Sweet Springs is closed for at least 4 hours. More details weren't immediately available about the crash.
