SATURDAY UPDATES: Over 8,500 new COVID-19 cases added

The state now has a seven day positivity rate of 35% on Saturday. An additional 8,577 new COVID-19 cases were added bringing the total of confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic is now 1,017,258.

There have also been 244,740 probable antigen test results being positive, with 2,366 added Saturday.

Six new deaths were added. DHSS has recorded a total of 13,871 COVID-19 related deaths.

The state dashboard says new cases are down by 4.4% over the past seven days. The positivity rate increased by 1.5% in that same time, while tests are down 8.1%. 

In the state's healthcare system, 3,940 people are dealing with COVID-19 infections. Of those, 724 are in the ICU and 16% of the ICU bed capacity remains open.

Saturday numbers show that 62.2% of Missouri residents have gotten at least one dose of coronavirus vaccine. For Missourians 18 and older that number is at 73.2% and 32.8% for those ages 5 to 17.

In total, 8,247,447 of the vaccine have been put into the arms of residents in the Show-Me State. In the past 7 days, the average daily doses given was 12,643.
