Mizzou SEC All-Freshman DL to enter transfer portal

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou defensive lineman Mekhi Wingo plans to enter the transfer portal. He confirmed his decision to ABC 17 News on Thursday.

PowerMizzou was the first to report the news.

The SEC All-Freshman Team member played in 12 games for the Tigers this past season. Wingo had 27 tackles, including two for a loss. He also had a 40-yard interception return for a touchdown against North Texas.

Wingo played at De Smet High School in St. Louis. His former head coach, Robert Steeples, recently became a defensive assistant coach at LSU. Steeples is a former MU football player as well.
