Mizzou hoops loses Braggin’ Rights to Illinois
ST. LOUIS (KMIZ)
The Mizzou men's basketball team no longer has Braggin' Rights over Illinois. The Fighting Illini crushed the Tigers 88-63 on Wednesday night. Mizzou's three-game winning streak in the rivalry is now over.
MU shot just 35.5% from the field. The Tigers were 5-for-22 from three-point range. Meanwhile, the Fighting Illini were on fire all night. They shot 57.9% from the field, including 21-of-25 from three-point range. Kofi Cockburn had a game-high 25 points and 14 rebounds.
Boogie Coleman led MU with 16 points off the bench. Freshman Trevon Brazile was impressive on the defensive end. He finished with a career-high 11 points and six blocks.
MU is now 6-6 on the season. Up next - the Tigers will open up SEC play on the road against Kentucky on Wednesday, Dec. 29 at 6 p.m.
