COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

ABC 17 and FOX 22 are partnering with the Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri to help feed people in need this holiday season.

The Networks of Mid-Missouri are help with the One for One Holiday Food and Fund Drive. The Food Bank is accepting donations of non-perishable food and money to help it provide food for the hungry. The most-needed items are canned meat/protein, canned fruits and vegetables, beans, rice, cereal, peanut butter, soup and pasta.

Monetary donations can be given online at the Food Bank's website. ABC 17 News staff will also be collecting donations from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Columbia Mall and the Jefferson City Orscheln.

In Missouri, 1 in 8 people and 1 in 7 children don't have enough to eat, according to Feeding America. Nearly 45% of Missouri households that receive food stamps have children, the organization says. The Food Bank distributes food to 32 Missouri counties.
