Mizzou Athletics changes seating locations for students and visiting fans at Faurot Field

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou Athletics announced changes to student and visiting team seating locations at Faurot Field on Tuesday.

MU's student section will now be four continuous sections (107-110) in the northeast corner of the stadium. Meanwhile, the visiting team section will move from the 50-yard-line to the southeast corner of Faurot Field.

MU provided this map to show the changes.

MU athletic director Desiree Reed-Francois released the following statement on the decision to move the sections.

“After directly engaging with our fans and students, we wanted to better showcase the energy of a complete student section at Faurot Field,” Reed-Francois said. “Our students bring a special energy to gameday as we saw first-hand in the overtime win over Florida. We want our opponents to know that Mizzou has a great home-field advantage and we are excited to take these steps to enhance the student experience and to better energize the atmosphere at football games. We recognize that these changes may cause an inconvenience to a small number of our fans and we appreciate their willingness to accommodate the continuing improvement to our gameday experience for the 2022 season and beyond.”

MU said 281 ticket accounts were affected due to the sections moving, but those impacted will be relocated to better or comparable seating.

Senior Associate AD/Chief Revenue Officer Greg Hulen released the following statement.

"The Tiger Scholarship Fund staff will work carefully with each impacted ticket holder to help them maintain their gameday experience while allowing Mizzou to make these changes."
