In Columbia, Suzette Waters has filed to run for the Columbia Board of Education in the April 2022 election.

“A quality education means stretching each student to reach beyond what they are doing to find out what they can do,” she said.

She has been an active volunteer in her kids’ classrooms and at their schools, including work tutoring at-risk kids and advocating for courses for high achievers at the middle-school level.

As a school board member, Waters wants to increase teacher support, maximize student potential and improve communication between the district and families.

In Jefferson City, Marc Ellinger files for a seat on Jefferson City School Board.

“We have an opportunity to make Jefferson City the pre-eminent school district not just in mid-Missouri but in the entire state,” Ellinger said.

Ellinger served as legal counsel for the Missouri State Auditor and has over 29 years of legal experience.

"As a proud graduate of the Jefferson City School District and the father of two boys who also graduated from Jefferson City and want to do what I can to ensure every child in the school
district is prepared to succeed in their adult life with a complete and thorough education,” Ellinger stated.

Ellinger was elected and served as Cole County Presiding Commissioner from 2007 to 2014. Ellinger serves as Chair of the Cole County Bicentennial Committee, immediate Past-Chair of the Board of Capital Region Medical Center, and Chair of the Senate Bipartisan Independent Citizens Commission.
