MOBERLY, Mo. (KMIZ

Saturday just before 9:00 a.m., officers with the Moberly Police Department responded to the 500 Block of Garfield Ave in regards to a burglary in progress.

Once on scene, officers determined a male and female were inside the residence without permission and attempting to avoid arrest.

A 24-year-old female was shortly taken into custody but the 31-year-old male refused to surrender. Missouri State Highway Patrol K9 Unit conducted search of the residence indicating the male was possibly hiding in the attic space. Moberly SWAT arrived on scene and determined the male was hiding in the attic. After a short negotiation, the male was taken into custody without incident.

The subjects were transported to the Randolph County Jail pending formal charges by the Randolph County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
