Two injured in Pettis County roadway collapse

PETTIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A resident and firefighter were injured during a roadway collapse in Pettis County on Saturday.

Southwood Lane and Southwood Circle opened back up around 5:30 p.m. Saturday after crews worked to clean up a roadway collapse.

Sheriff Brad Anders shared the update on Facebook saying a controlled burn damaged a plastic culvert, which led to the roadway collapse.

In his Facebook post, Anders said Pettis County Road and Bridge crews were working to fix the collapse. Anders also offered thoughts and prayers to those injured in the collapse.
