Lincoln hires new football coach

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Lincoln University introduced its new head football coach Jermaine Gales on Monday morning.

Gales comes to the Capital City after spending last season as the offensive coordinator at Bluefield State. He has nearly 20 years of coaching experience, but this will be his first head coaching job.

Gales spent one season at Bluefield State before coming to LU. He helped lead the Big Blue to a winning record in its first football season in 40 years.

Gales has also spent time coaching at Arkansas-Pine Bluff, North Carolina Central, Mars Hill and Saint Augustine's. He played college football at Mt. San Antonio and Southern Arkansas. Gales graduated from Southern Arkansas in 2002. He later earned his Master's degree from SAU in 2005.
