Police responded to an incident in northeast Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Over nine police vehicles are on the scene of an incident in northeast Columbia.

Officials with Columbia Police Department report a man may have barricaded himself inside the residence on the 1900 block of Mckee street.

When officers arrived they found the man did not barricade himself and actually surrendered peacefully.

Officials say it took around eight minutes from the time the SWAT bearcat was dispatched until the time the suspect was detained.

The Columbia Police Department said as they get more information they will provide a press release if necessary.
