Girl killed after being hit by vehicle in Sedalia

SEDALIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Sedalia Police Department is investigating a crash that killed an 11-year-old girl on Monday afternoon.

Police said officers responded around 3:10 p.m. to a crash at the intersection of North Engineer Avenue and East Saline Street.

Officers at the scene found a vehicle had hit the girl. The child died at the scene after emergency crews tried to save her life, according to the police department.

The name of the victim isn't being released until her family is notified. Police also didn't give out the name of the driver.

Anyone with information or who witnessed the crash is asked to call the Sedalia Police Department.
