One person shot along North Boulevard in Columbia on Saturday

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

In a press release sent out on Saturday morning, the Columbia Police Department says one woman was shot along the area of North Blvd. and North 8th St. around midnight.

CPD confirmed to ABC 17 News crews that one woman was injured in the incident and there was property damage from the shooting. CPD says the woman walked into a local hospital with a gunshot wound after the shooting and officers learned she was connected to the shooting.

CPD says several police were walking on patrol in the area when they heard several gunshots and saw people running from the scene as well as a car speeding off.

ABC 17 News crews on scene saw at least 6 CPD cars and one Boone County Sheriff's car. Crews saw multiple CPD officers searching the scene with flashlights and investigating a car with bullet holes within the marked off crime scene area.

Crews saw at least 9 evidence markers on the ground and observed two cars being towed from the scene.

CPD cleared the scene around 2:30 a.m.

CPD says there is no current suspect information at this time.
