Rock Bridge runner wins cross country state championship

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Rock Bridge standout Andrew Hauser won the Class 5 state cross country championship on Friday.

He broke the Gans Creek cross country course record with a time of 14:52.7. That was more than 40 seconds faster than his brother Mathew Hauser's winning time last year. Matthew was the 2020 Class 5 state champion.

The Bruins were four points shy of defending their team title as they finished in second place with 81 points. Kickapoo took home the team title this year.
