Badie leads Mizzou football to road win over Vanderbilt
NASHVILLE (KMIZ)
The Mizzou football team got a much needed road win over Vanderbilt on Saturday. The Tigers beat the Commodores 37-28 to improve to 4-4 on the season.
It was MU's first SEC win of the season, and it was also the Tigers first road victory of the year as well.
Tyler Badie rushed for a career-high 254 yards on 31 carries. He had two touchdowns on the ground. Badie also caught eight passes for 40 yards.
Quarterback Connor Bazelak was 22-for-28 for 218 yards, including a touchdown and an interception. The redshirt sophomore left the game in the fourth quarter due to an injury.
Freshman QB Tyler Macon came into the game in his place and led the Tigers on two scoring drives.
Mizzou was down 14-10 late in the first half, but the momentum clearly shifted after Keke Chism hauled in a Hail Mary touchdown to put the Tigers up 17-14 at halftime.
Former Rock Bridge standout Martez Manuel sealed the win with his first career interception late in the fourth quarter.
Up next - Mizzou will play at Georgia on Saturday. The kickoff time is still to be determined.
