SSM health hosts hiring event

Jefferson City, Mo (kmiz)

Sisters of St. Mary's Hospital hosted it's hiring event today. The health system is looking to fill a wide range of full and part-time positions in light of the shortage of health care workers since the pandemic started.

According to the U.S labor and statistics since the pandemic began the health care industry has taken a hit, losing over a half a million health care workers.

Eight thousand of those jobs were lost last month.

The health system is offering sign on bonuses for full time clinical partners for two thousand dollars and ten thousand dollars for full time nurses.

The hiring event was not just for nurses but for other positions including food and dietary, security, dining, CNAS and more.

Cassie Wozinak senior talent aquisitionist for SSM health says, "part of the reason we wanted to have this event is we recently increased our minimum wage to $15 an hour."

SSM health is looking forward to bringing new people to their team to train and to help support their patients and families who are coming in for care.
