School bus involved in crash on Highway 50 in Cole County

COLE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

At least two vehicles, including a school bus, were involved in a crash Thursday morning on Highway 50 in Cole County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened in the westbound lanes near Henwick lane.

Troopers said the bus was hit by another vehicle after the school bus driver tried to cross the westbound lanes of Highway 50 without stopping for the other vehicle.

A Jefferson City School District spokeswoman said three middle school students on the bus weren't hurt in the crash.

Troopers said the driver of the bus also wasn't hurt.

A person in the other vehicle was treated for minor injuries, according to the highway patrol.

JC Schools said another school bus was brought in to finish the route after the parents of the students were notified about the crash.
