COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A vehicle crashed into an attached garage Friday morning near at the intersection of West Ash St and Clinkscales Rd in west Columbia.

Boone County dispatchers sent a public alert at 7:55 a.m. When ABC 17 arrived at the scene, we saw a car partially covered with a tarp that had crashed into an attached garage.

Bruce McGuire owns Modern Property Groups and the house that was hit is one of his rental properties. He was coming to check on this house when he saw the car sitting in the garage.

"The car apparently had come through the intersection here at Ash and Clinkscales and veered across the front yard and clipped the front end of the garage," McGuire said.

McGuire said there's about 30,000 dollars worth of damage to the garage and it will take a couple of months to repair but he's glad no one was hurt

"These things happen and sometimes its through no fault of anyone and thats why we have insurance and we're just thankful no one was hurt" McGuire said.

Clayton Farr Jr. Divison Fire Chief at Columbia Fire department said two people were in the car at the time of the crash and no one was home when it happened.

This is not the only fixed object crash that has happened. Last month, a truck crashed in a home of Worley street and Woodlawn Ave and trapped a woman under the vehicle.

According to Missouri stars crash map, 15 fixed object crashes happened in the last three months. The damaged garage now has wooden post up to support the roof and a board to cover the entrance.

ABC 17 is still working to get the updated condition on the passenger and driver involved in the crash.
