ASHLAND, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Boone County prosecutor has charged a Missouri man after he allegedly drove away from Ashland police Saturday during a traffic stop.

During a traffic stop in the 100 block of Industrial Dr. in Ashland, police say that David Biler gave a false name and then drove away in a vehicle with a woman and three children in it.

Biler drove the vehicle north on Highway 63 before police called off the chase due to the safety of the children.

Officers later found the vehicle in a trailer park and police found Biler hiding underneath a trailer before being taken into custody.

Biler is charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, resisting arrest and driving with a suspended license.

Biler is in Boone County Jail with a $50,000 cash-only bond.

No court date has been set.
