Flu shots to be given out at Boone County schools beginning next week

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services will be giving out flu shots at school-based and community outreach flu-shot clinics beginning next week.

Starting next Oct. 6, doses will be given out at the Harrisburg School District central office from 3:30 to 6 p.m.

Flu shots will then be available at Centralia Intermediate School on Oct. 13.

Clinics will also be held at Sturgeon, Hallsville Intermediate and Southern Boone Primary school.

All clinics will be from 3:30 until 6 p.m.

The vaccines will be free for those 18 and under. The cost of the vaccine for residents age 19 and older will vary depending on insurance coverage. For self-pay residents, the cost of the vaccine is $25.

COVID-19 vaccinations will not be available at the flu shot clinics.
