The City of Columbia and the University of Missouri are holding a ceremony in remembrance of those killed in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The University of Missouri and the City of Columbia are hosting a ceremony on the 20th anniversary of nearly 3,000 killed in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Columbia Mayor Brian Treece and the University’s provost Latha Ramchand will give statements during a wreath-laying ceremony at the columns on the University of Missouri campus on Francis Quadrangle beginning at 10 a.m.

The ceremony will include a wreath processional, presentation of the colors by the Joint Services Color Guard and City Honor Guards, a flyover by the MU Healthcare helicopter and more. 

The ceremony will conclude with the Joint Services Color Guard retiring the colors.
