Drinkwitz announces team captains and gives injury update

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou football coach Eli Drinkwitz officially announced the MU team captains on Monday afternoon. He also gave an injury update on two standout wide receivers.

Drinkwitz said Jay Maclin has a broken forearm, and he will be out three-to-four weeks. He added fellow wide out Mookie Cooper has a lower leg injury, and he will be out 10-to-14 days.

"Both of those guys have a really good grasp of the offense, so we anticipate - being positive - we're hoping that game week they'll be ready to roll. Don't know that, but that's kind of our mindset."

Meanwhile, Drinkwitz announced Case Cook, Martez Manuel and Connor Bazelak will be the Tigers 2021 team captains this season.
