MONDAY UPDATES: Boone County reports 800 total coronavirus cases; over 100 hospitalized

The Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services is reporting 124 new COVID-19 cases.

There are currently 800 active cases in the county, an increase of 19 from Friday. The county now has a reported total number of COVID-19 cases of 21,120. The 800 active cases is the highest reported since the weekend update on Jan 11.

The county reported 20,201 cases removed from isolation, an increase of 105 from Friday.

Boone County ranks eighth in the state with the most coronavirus cases in total volume in the past week. Cases are down 24.5% on the week. The county has a 13.4% positive test rate, according to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.

The positivity rate is up for the previous week of July 23 through Thursday to 34.7.

The health department's hospital status remains in yellow, with 101 COVID-19 patients in Boone County hospitals and 26 of them being Boone County residents. Of those, 41 are in intensive care and 13 are on ventilators.

The Missouri coronavirus vaccine dashboard is reporting that 96,646 residents have received their first dose in Boone County and 85,029 Boone County residents have completed their vaccine doses. Boone County has the largest percentage of county residents in Mid-Missouri that have received at least one dose of the vaccine with 53.6%. The second closest county in the state is St. Louis County with 52.2%.

Boone County is first in the state with a reported 47.1% of residents that have completed their coronavirus vaccine doses. St. Louis County is the second county in the state with 45.6% of residents have completed the doses for vaccination.

Cole County has the second-highest first vaccination rate in Mid-Missouri with 45.1%. Montgomery County is third with 40.4%.

Cole County reports 134 new coronavirus cases over the weekend

The Cole County Health Department reported 134 new coronavirus cases after the weekend.

According to the dashboard update, there have been 134 new cases in the county, bringing the total to 9,353 resident cases and a total of 280 cases for long-term care facility residents. That brings a total of 9,499 total cases in the county.

The county has reported 126 coronavirus-related deaths since the pandemic started.

Cole County ranks sixth in the state for counties with the most coronavirus cases per capita in the past week. Cases are down 17.4% on the week. The county has a 19.8% positive test rate, according to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.

The Missouri coronavirus vaccine dashboard reports about 39.3% of the county's population have been fully vaccinated.

Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services are hosting multiple community clinics this week, beginning today.

These clinics will be walk-in based and no appointments are needed.

Vaccines are free and do not require ID or health insurance. Anyone aged 12 or older is eligible for Pfizer. Anyone aged 18 and older is eligible for Johnson & Johnson. Parental consent forms are required for anyone under the age of 18.

Callaway County reports 135 new coronavirus cases; 412 total

The Callaway County Health Department reported 412 total active cases. That is an increase of 135 cases since it was last updated.

According to the dashboard update, there has been a total of 4,723 cases in the county.

According to the health department, there are currently 67 cases in the Department of Corrections in the county.

The county has reported 46 coronavirus-related deaths since the pandemic started.

Callaway County ranks 14th in the state for counties with the most coronavirus cases per capita in the past week. Cases are up 4.9% on the week. The county has an 18.4% positive test rate, according to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.

The Missouri coronavirus vaccine dashboard reports about 33.4% of the county's population have been fully vaccinated.

Lowest number of COVID-19 cases added within the past week

The Missouri COVID-19 dashboard has seen the lowest number of new COVID-19 cases within the past week.

On Monday, the dashboard documented an additional 992 confirmed cases of the virus. The last time the dashboard added under 1,000 cases for a single day was back on July 26 with 892 cases.

The state documented 228 new probable cases with a total number of 110,476 antigen tests being positive since the start of the pandemic.

The state positivity rate remained the same as Sunday with a rate of 14.8%.

No deaths were recorded on Monday or Sunday. According to the dashboard, there were 31 deaths from July 24 through July 30.

Monday numbers show 2,959,911 residents have started vaccination within the state. This equates to 48.2% of residents who have gotten at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

In total, 5,316,949 doses of the vaccine have been put into the arms of residents in the Show-Me State. From July 24 through July 30, the average daily number of doses given out was 12,815.
