Weekend Lake Forecast

It is hot outside! If you’re looking to cool down in the lake this weekend then I have great news for you. Water about a foot below the surface is sitting at 83 degrees this evening. While that’s still warm, it’s much cooler than the air.

A few other things you’ll want to know as you plan for your weekend are that the UV index is expected to be very high, so make sure you bring that sunscreen and apply it often. While you’re grabbing the sunscreen, make sure to grab some water on the way out the door because temperatures will be unforgiving on Saturday and Sunday with highs in the 90s. Heat index values on Saturday will toe the line of 100 degrees for a feels-like temperature.

If you’re not a fan of this humidity, then Sunday will be the day for you as dew points are expected to drop back into the 50s and 60s. This will help to drop that heat index back toward more manageable conditions.

It appears that summer is in full swing this weekend, so enjoy that lake life!
