Several power outages reported across Mid-Missouri; severe weather causing damage

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives is reporting power outages in several Mid-Missouri counties.

Resident currently affected by outages are:

  • Camden County - 977
  • Benton County - 1,345
  • Morgan County - 654
  • Pettis County - 358
  • Boone County - 1
  • Miller County - 15
  • Howard County - 1
  • Cooper County - 3

Severe weather is reported in several counties currently with Benton County reporting a severe weather storm at 5:14 p.m.

The National Weather Service is reporting that are trees were damaged due to the storm in Benton County. Officials also report power poles are bent and some siding off is reporting off of houses. The weather service says there was estimated winds of 60 to 70 mph that lasted about 25 minutes.
