WEDNESDAY UPDATES: Boone Health to host Johnson & Johnson vaccine clinic on June 19
Boone Health will be hosting a Johnson & Johnson vaccine clinic on June 19th from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Boone Hospital and it is open to anyone 18 and older.
Boone Health also hosts a vaccination site located at the Columbia Mall where you can receive the Moderna, Pfizer or Johnson & Johnson depending upon availability. If a person is given the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine, a follow-up date will be scheduled.
Boone County reports 62 active cases; Cole County reports two new deaths
The Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services is reporting 10 new COVID-19 cases.
There are currently 62 active cases in the county, an increase of four cases from Tuesday.
The county now has a reported total number of COVID-19 cases of 18,605.
The county has reported the total number of cases removed from isolation is 18,427, an increase of seven cases from Tuesday.
The health department's hospital status remains in yellow.
The health department is reporting four Boone County residents are in the hospital due to the coronavirus.
There are a total of 29 people hospitalized at a Boone County hospital due to the coronavirus.
The dashboard is showing 14 COVID-19 patients in the ICU and six patients on a ventilator.
The State of Missouri coronavirus vaccine dashboard is reporting that 88,293 residents have received their first dose in Boone County and 77,031 Boone County residents have completed their vaccine doses.
Boone County has the largest percentage of people in Mid-Missouri that have received at least one dose of the vaccine with 48.9%. The second closest in the state is St. Louis County with 46.7%.
Boone County is first in the state with a reported 42.7% of residents that have completed their coronavirus vaccine doses. St. Charles County is second in the state with 39% of residents have completed the doses for vaccination.
Cole County has the second-highest first vaccination rate in Mid-Missouri with 39.2%. Montgomery County is third with 34.8%.
Cole County reported five new coronavirus cases today. That brings the total number of cases to 7,967 for residents and 270 cases for long-term care facility residents.
The county is also reporting one resident death and one death of a long-term care facility resident. That brings the total number of deaths to 123, the most in Mid-Missouri.
