Troopers find driver involved in deadly Boone County hit-and-run crash

BOONE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A driver accused of hitting and killing a man on eastbound Interstate 70 in Boone County has been located.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 2:35 a.m. Saturday near the 121.6-mile marker.

Zachary W. Isbell, 27, of Columbia, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The vehicle involved in the crash left the scene before troopers arrived.

Troop F posted to its Twitter account on Tuesday the driver and vehicle were found after several leads were investigated.

The name of the driver hasn't been given out.

Troopers told ABC 17 News no arrests have been made, but a prosecutor could file an arrest warrant once the investigation is reviewed.

This is Troop F's sixh fatality in May and 29th in 2021.
