Mizzou to allow full capacity at upcoming NCAA softball regional
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Mizzou will allow full capacity at its upcoming NCAA softball regional this weekend.
This comes after the NCAA announced it will end its COVID-19 restrictions for championship events. Starting on Thursday - it's now up to each championship host to abide by its own local health guidelines.
MU quickly sold out of its ticket allotment for its previous 50% capacity, but the school said more tickets will now be available to purchase starting Thursday at 10 a.m.
Mizzou is one of four teams competing in the Columbia regional this weekend. The Tigers will take on University of Illinois-Chicago on Friday at 3:30 p.m. Northern Iowa and Iowa State are the other two teams competing. They will face off on Friday at 1 p.m.
This weekend will be the first NCAA regional ever held at the new Mizzou softball stadium. The Tigers haven't hosted a regional since 2016.
MU also announced all of its upcoming baseball games at Taylor Stadium will allow full capacity as well.
