Jefferson City Police asking for help after fatal Crash on US 54 early Saturday morning

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

One man is dead after a fatal crash on US 54 early Saturday morning, and police are asking the public for help determining what happened.

The Jefferson City Police Department said Bradford William Mason, 59 of Ballwin, Missouri was pronounced dead at the scene after the fatal crash.

Officers esponded to a call of a one car crash on US 54 near the tri-level after 3 a.m. on Saturday morning. The Ford pickup Mason was driving was located at the top of the center concrete highway divider. According to officials, the pickup was upright and facing east.

Officials determined the truck was traveling southbound on US 54 when it ran off the road and hit a guardrail. The truck then crossed the southbound lanes and hit the concrete center divider and then came to a stop.

The vehicle involved in the crash was a 1999 white Ford pickup truck, according to police.

Mason was not wearing a seatbelt according to the Jefferson City Police Department release. The crash is currently still under investigation.

According to police, there are currently no witnesses to the single-vehicle crash. JCPD sent out a call for help, asking anyone traveling near the US Highway 54/63 interchange between 2:30 and 3:20 AM to contact the traffic unit at (573) 634-6400.
