Mizzou softball advances to SEC Tournament semifinals

TUSCALOOSA, Alab. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou softball team beat LSU 4-1 on Thursday afternoon to advance to the SEC Tournament semifinals. It's the Tigers first conference tournament win since 2015.

MU pitcher Jordan Weber pitched a complete game two-hitter. The sophomore standout had four strikeouts as well.

Senior Brooke Wilmes led the Tigers offensively. She was 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBI.

Fellow senior Cayla Kessinger had a home run in the fourth inning to give MU some insurance.

On defense - All-SEC defensive team member Casidy Chaumont had two diving catches in left field. In the 6th inning, Chaumont potentially saved a run with this play.

Up next - the Tigers will take on No. 1 seed Florida in the semifinals. First pitch is Friday at 3 p.m.
