Mexico police looking for car chase suspect that ran away after a crash Sunday morning

MEXICO, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mexico police continue to look for a suspect that stole a vehicle and crashed it before running away from police Sunday morning.

According to a Mexico police release, a Mexico officer saw a blue 2003 Ford Explorer driving erratically in the area of Clark and Boulevard.

The officer attempted to pull over the vehicle before the driver drove off and later hitting a tree stump on the 400 block of Clay Street. The driver then ran from the scene.

Police report the Ford had been stolen from the 700 block of S Jefferson St. earlier that night.

There were no injuries from the incident.
