SUNDAY UPDATES: State grows closer to half of all Missouri adults vaccinated
The Show-Me State is growing closer to another benchmark in vaccine distribution, as the health department reported 49.1% of all Missourians 18 and old have at least one shot of the vaccine. about 39.6% of those have finished the process.
The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reported Sunday that 2,367,405 people have received at least of dose of the coronavirus vaccine. That is about 38.6% of the state's entire population.
Of those, 1,905,352 people have finished the process, which is about 31% of the population.
In total, 4,143,093 doses have been given out in Missouri.
The state's health department reported 260 new cases of COVID-19 Sunday, bringing the total to 505,492.
Missouri also reported 95 new probable cases through antigen testing, pushing that total to 84,761 throughout the state.
One new death was reported on Sunday. The death toll of the pandemic in Missouri is 8,824.
The state's seven day positivity rate stayed steady at 4.9%.
Missouri's hospitals are reporting 761 patients dealing with COVID-19 infections. Of those, 147 are in the ICU and 69 are on ventilators.
