SUNDAY UPDATES: Missouri’s 7-day positivity rate hovers at 4.9%
The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reported 235 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, bringing the statewide total to 499,554 throughout the pandemic.
The state also reported 144 new probable antigen tests, bringing that total to 82,089.
One new death was reported on Sunday. The death toll from the pandemic now stands at 8,695.
Missouri's 7-day positivity rate stayed at 4.9% on Sunday.
The reported hospitalization rate was the same as Saturday, the state reporting 788 people in the hospital. Of those, 135 are in the ICU and 73 are on ventilators.
The state did not post updated vaccine totals on Sunday. The data stayed the same as Saturday, with the state reporting 36% of the population has received at least one shot of the coronavirus vaccine. That equals 2,208,926 people who have started the process.
Of those, 25.7% of the state's population has finished the vaccine process, meaning 1,577,976 people. Patients are not consider fully vaccinated until two weeks after their last shot.
In total, 3,667,417 doses of the vaccine have been put into the arms of Missourians.
