Intersection improvements on Highway 63 to close Boone County roads

MGN Online

BOONE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) project that hopes to reduce the number of crashes along U.S. Route 63 in Boone County will result in the closure of Minor Hill Road on Wednesday.

The closure will last for a week. In addition, contractors plan to also close Angel Lane at Route 63 on next Monday. Angel Lane will be closed at that location for a week too.

Once the work is completed in that area, the median crossovers currently at those intersections will be permanently closed.

Deceleration lanes, acceleration lanes and other intersection reconfigurations, including J-turns, are being built at these locations. Similar configurations are planned for Martin Lane, New Salem Lane, and Loy Martin Road.

Work on the intersections will take place in both directions between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m and will include single lane closures on Route 63 at each work location. Some delays are possible.
