Mizzou softball and baseball lose rivalry matchups

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou softball and baseball teams' both lost their rivalry matchups on Tuesday night.

The No. 18 MU softball team lost 4-3 to Kansas in the first Border War matchup on the softball diamond since 2012. It's the Jayhawks first win over the Tigers since 2009. Before Tuesday, MU had won 13 straight games over Kansas.

Mizzou is now 29-10 overall and 7-5 in the SEC. Up next - the Tigers will host Mississippi State for game one of a three game series on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Mizzou baseball lost 7-5 to Missouri State on Tuesday. The Tigers scored four runs in the 8th inning to make it close, but MU could not complete the comeback.

MU is now 11-20 overall and 4-8 in the SEC. Up next - the Tigers will play at Florida for game one of a three game series on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
