Mizzou linebacker enters transfer portal
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Mizzou linebacker Jamal Brooks announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Monday afternoon.
"It is with an open heart and teary eyes that I have made the decision to graduate in May and with great ambition enter my name into the transfer portal," Brooks said in a message on social media.
The Alabama native also thanked the fans and his teammates for all of their support the last four years.
Brooks played in all ten games for the Tigers during his senior season. He finished with five tackles - four of those came in the Tigers Battle Line Rivalry win over Arkansas.
The former three-star prospect earned the No. 25 his freshman year as a tribute to the late Aaron O'Neal. In July of 2005, O'Neal tragically passed away after collapsing during a preseason workout.
Brooks said in his statement, "To the O'Neal family: Without your son there would be nothing to honor. So to you, thank you!"
Brooks will be a graduate transfer and will have one year of eligibility remaining.
