Mizzou officially signs third transfer this offseason
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Mizzou basketball team officially signed transfer guard Jarron "Boogie" Coleman on Friday afternoon.
Coleman comes to Columbia after spending the last three seasons at Ball State. The rising redshirt junior will still have three years of eligibility to play for the Tigers.
“Boogie is a leader who is scrappy, hungry and works tremendously hard at his craft,” Head coach Cuonzo Martin said in a release. “He takes pride on defense and he’s a playmaker on offense. He makes great decisions, plays at his pace and can score at all three levels.”
Coleman is coming off a strong year with the Cardinals. He averaged 13.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists a game. The Indianapolis native scored a career-high 33 points against Toledo in the MAC Tournament
“I chose to play for Mizzou and Coach Martin because the staff made me feel likely family from day one,” Coleman said in a release. “I also feel like with all the new players and the group we have coming in, we can do something special together.”
Coleman is one of three transfers to join the Tigers so far this offseason. Amari Davis (Green Bay) and DaJuan Gordon (Kansas State) have also signed to play for Mizzou.
Mizzou still has two open scholarships remaining.
