Phase 2 of Missouri’s vaccine plan set to open Monday

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Missouri's phased approach to coronavirus vaccinations in the Show Me State is set to once again expand on Monday.

In a tweet, Governor Mike Parson said the expansion will make 880,000 additional residents eligible for vaccination.

The expansion is set to open up vaccination to these groups:

  • Commercial Facilities Sector
  • Critical Manufacturing
  • Construction Sector
  • Defense Industrial Base
  • Financial Services
  • Food and Agriculture Sector 2 (includes restaurant employees)
  • Government
  • Disproportionately Affected Populations
  • Homeless

The state health department reported 24.2% of the state's population has initiated the vaccination process which breaks down to 1,485,817 residents.

Of those, 848,102 or 13.8% of Missourians have completed the vaccination process.

Missouri has administered 252,925 doses over the past seven days recorded for an average of 36,132 vaccinations given per day.

Newly eligible residents in Mid-Missouri will have a few opportunities to get vaccinated at upcoming mass vaccination events.

Callaway County is set to host a drive-thru clinic March 26 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Callaway Rural Electric Cooperative.

Moniteau County will host a two day, walk-thru clinic March 30 & 31 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the United Church of Christ.

Audrain County is hosting a walk-thru clinic April 6 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. located at the Mexico Area Family YMCA.

Residents looking to register for an upcoming event can visit the state's website.
