No. 18 Mizzou softball beats No. 24 Auburn to secure series win

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The No. 18 Mizzou softball got its second straight win over No. 24 Auburn on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers beat AU 6-5 to secure the series win.

MU trailed 4-1 in the third inning, but the Tigers were able to comeback quickly. Kim Wert hit a three-run shot in the bottom of the third to tie the game, 4-4.

Auburn took the lead once again in the top of the fourth, but Mizzou once again responded. Freshman Jenna Laird hit a two RBI single to give the Tigers the lead. That proved to be the game-winning hit.

The Tigers are now 24-6 overall and 3-2 in the SEC. Mizzou will go for the sweep of Auburn on Sunday at noon.
