Missourians in Tier 3 now eligible for coronavirus vaccine

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

UPDATE: As of 10 a.m., the Columbia/Boone County health department had no open vaccination appointments listed on its website.

Thousands of Missourians are now eligible for the coronavirus vaccine under Phase 1B, Tier 3 in the state's vaccination plan.

Those eligible in tier three include the following workforces:

  • Education (K-12)
  • Childcare
  • Communications Sector
  • Dams Sector
  • Energy Sector
  • Food/Agriculture Sector (production, processing, distribution and grocery and convenience store workers)
  • Government (elected officials, judiciary, others designated for continuity of government)
  • Information Technology Sector
  • Nuclear Reactors, Materials and Waste Sector
  • Transportation Systems Sector
  • Waste and Wastewater Systems Sector

As 550,000 Missourians become eligible for the vaccine Monday, the Columbia/Boone County Health Department plans on opening vaccination appointments starting at 8 a.m.

Appointments are required and available only for those who are eligible and live or work in Boone County. 

Appointments became available on the CoMo.gov/CovidVaccine site at 8 a.m.

According to the state's vaccine dashboard, 1,777,068 total vaccines doses have been administered in Missouri as of Monday.
