Mexico man arrested after waving gun around

MEXICO, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Mexico man is charged after allegedly waving a gun around and abandoning a child.

According to court documents, officers responded to a scene where Kevin Jackson allegedly was waving a gun around at Coal and Guthrie in Mexico.

Witnesses report Jackson was cocking the gun and pointing it at them.

During the investigation, Jackson told police that he left a 10-month-old at home with nobody to care for the child. Police found the child with a soiled diaper.

Jackson is charged with two counts of 4th-degree assault, 2nd-degree endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful use of a weapon.

Jackson is being held without bond in Audrain County Jail.

Jackson's has his initial court appearance Thursday.
