An Eldon man sought by Cole County sheriff's deputies was in the Miller County Jail after a Wednesday vehicle and foot chase.

Miller County deputies arrested Jesse W. Scott, 31, after seeing him driving Wednesday on Highway 42, according to a Cole County Sheriff's Department news release. Scott sped off when a deputy tried to stop him, causing a crash, according to the release.

Scott ran from his vehicle but deputies caught him thanks to "a vigilant citizen," according to the release.

Scott was being held Wednesday on a no-bond warrant for a probation violation. More felony charges are expected in Miller and Cole counties, according to the release.

The Cole County Sheriff's Department put out a public call for help finding Scott after he allegedly stole a vehicle and ran from deputies Tuesday morning.

Scott was charged in January with unlawful use of a weapon, according to online court records. Information about his new charges was not yet available.
