Suspect on the run after crashing car into ravine

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Columbia Police Department is searching for a suspect after he allegedly crashed a stolen vehicle into a ravine in Columbia late Friday night.

After a short pursuit ended in a crash, CPD detained one juvenile passenger and set up a perimeter around the Columbia Mall area to find the driver, who fled on foot.

Police called in a K-9 unit to assist in the search.

Officers believe the vehicle was stolen in Columbia.

CPD says they don't have a suspect identity but say there is no reason to believe he is armed and dangerous.
