Mizzou football opens up spring practice
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Mizzou football team opened up spring practice on Friday afternoon as head coach Eli Drinkwitz enters year two with program.
Drinkwitz gave a quick injury update at his news conference after Day 1 of spring practice
- WR Jalen Knox had surgery on a "lower extremity" and will be out for spring
- TE Niko Hea had surgery and is out for spring
- DB Jarvis Ware is recovering from ACL surgery and is out for spring
- DL Trajan Jeffcoat is day-to-day
Drinkwitz also added he will allow fans at practice on March 6 and 13 leading up to the annual spring game on March 20.
During practice, the coaching staff and players all wore Norris Stevenson shirts to honor the first African American to play in the MU program.
"As our celebration of Black History Month, which is our history here at Mizzou, we wanted to honor Norris and his family," Coach Drinkwitz said after practice.
