Missouri Department of Labor reports highest number of unemployment claims since June 2020
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
More than 5,500 Missourians filed new unemployment claims last week.
The additional applicants make the total number of people in the state filing for benefits 19,099.
That's the highest number of weekly claims filed in the state since June.
According to the Missouri Department of Labor, Missouri has an unemployment rate of 5.8%.
At the county level, Osage County has the lowest unemployment rate in the viewing area with 3.7%.
Boone County reports an unemployment rate of 4.2% and Cole County has an unemployment rate of 4.4%
Camden County has the highest unemployment rate in Mid-Missouri with 7.3%.
