Police respond to a Columbia arson on Ammonette

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia Police have arrested Seth Vaughn, 28, of Columbia after after responding to a disturbance Sunday morning.

Police responded to the 2000 block of Ammonette Street around 1:44 a.m. According to a press release from the Columbia Police Department, while they were en route to the disturbance officers learned a resident had reported a structure fire at the same address.

Officers found a small fire in the kitchen that firefighters were able to quickly put out.

Firefighters found the fire was confined to only kitchen and had caused minor damage.

At the time of the fire there were two adults and two juveniles inside the home. One adult who was inside the home was identified as a suspect.

Vaughn is now facing charges of first degree arson, four counts of endangering the welfare of a child, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

There were no injures reported.

Police continue to investigate the incident.
