Marshals arrest man accused of threatening judge, sheriff

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — Federal marshals have arrested a man wanted on suspicion of threatening to kill a south-central Missouri judge, sheriff and their families.

The U.S. Marshals Service says in a news release that 50-year-old Lonnie Richardson was arrested Monday in rural Laclede County near Lebanon, where he had barricaded himself in a small camper.

He is accused in a federal warrant of tampering with a judicial officer and making a terroristic threat.

Investigators say he threatened to kill a Wright County judge, sheriff and their families on Feb. 4.
