Camden County man charged with kidnapping and assaulting a family member

CAMDENTON, Mo. (KMIZ)

Camden County Sheriff's department is charged a Sunrise Beach man with two counts of 2nd-degree domestic assault and kidnapping after an incident Sunday that sent a 78-year-old male to the hospital.

According to the probable cause statement, Shane Anderson allegedly assaulted a family member by punching him in the face and knocking him out, choking him and biting him Sunday.

Deputies responded to an assault call from another family member and interviewed the victim at Lake Regional Hospital. The victim told deputies that he didn't want to press charges and that Anderson had been going through a rough period.

According to court documents, Anderson and the victim were watching the Super Bowl at a local restaurant when they left and Anderson knocked the victim out who was driving and crashed into a tree. According to the probable cause statement, Anderson then drove home and began pushing the victim to the ground, then choking the victim and biting him. At one point, the victim tried to leave and Anderson prevented it from occurring according to court documents.

Anderson has a $30,000 cash/surety bond.
